Question: Now I am 25 weeks pregnant n since I am 18 weeks pregnant, sometimes I will have this black or dark brown discharge. Is this normal? My baby is very active kicking everyday. Thanks,- Mrs Ramesh
During pregnancy, it is normal to have a whitish/ whitish yellowish vaginal discharge that is non irritating or smelly. Any other vaginal discharge of any other colour or is smelly or itichy should be seen by the doctor.
Question: A new study reveals in London that a brief delay in cutting a newborn baby’s umbilical cord can significantly improve a child’s health ( waiting just 2 minutes before severing the umbilical cord can halve risk of blood disorders ). What is your opinion about this? Do you think Malaysian’s hospitals/medical centres practice this? -Mrs Ramesh
A brief delay in the cutting of the umbilical cord would be ideal in normal circumctances. However, whether it will be practised during the time of your delivery will depend on your doctor and the well being of your baby. You are encouraged to discuss this issue with your doctor during your ante visits.
