My girl (just into 3rd month)’s seem to hv constipation problem. She’s on breast milk (expressed) from morning till night and on formula milk during midnight (max is 2 times).
Each time when she passed motion, she cried as seem straining but the stool is soft and hv some small crumps. Is it alright for her to pass motion for 2 – 3 times per week?

It is not unusual for a baby to appears to be straining when she wants to open her bowels. As you have observed, her stools is soft. With breast feeding, it is unlikely to have hard stools . What is happening is that your baby is not opening her bowels daily. As long as she is breast feeding, passing gas (farting) daily, drinking and tolerating her milk , is generally happy and active,passing plently of clear uring and gaining weight, she is doing fine.
