Hello Mrs. Lum
Thank you so much for being a Baiboo club member.
Regarding your question about bathing and washing your hair:
According to traditional Chinese custom the earliest you are allowed to wash your hair and have a bath is 14 days after the delivery. It does not matter if your house does not have an air-conditioner; the most important thing is to be in a warm room after the bath so that you do not become chilled.
With regards to your second question, I am not sure what you mean by polishing your house. Could you please rephrase the question again?
It is impossible to tell you exactly when you can go out because of different circumstances for each individual but the deciding factor is how well you feel both physically and mentally at that point in time. Most women are very tired from the stress of childbirth therefore it is important that they get a lot of rest especially during the early days. Any wound that you may have whether it is from an episiotomy or a caesarean section will take at least 10 days to heal therefore you should wait for the wound to heal before going out especially if you plan to do a lot of walking. If you are thinking of traditional taboos about not being allowed to go out for 1 month, this does not really apply nowadays.
All the best for a safe delivery
Cecilia
