dear Baiboo team,
first of all, i would like to thank the baiboo team for providing so many info in the Baiboo website. Good job!
i am expected to deliver(2nd child) on the 28/1/08 which is not that long. Yet, i still cant decide where to deliver. I have a bad experience last time when i gave birth to my first baby in government hospital in JB. The worst part is, my first baby pass away on the second day after birth( because of hospital negligence). It was a hard time for me and my husband to go on in life, and we have decided to go to private clinic/hospital the next time i get pregnant. This time around, from the first day i knew that i’m pregnant, we start our antenatal check-up in private clinic. Now that i am 32 weeks pregnant, my gynae told me that i have to decide where to give birth and start doing a survey. I’m staying in Johor Bahru and has listed down a few private maternity centre. It would be such a great help if Baiboo team can help me in this, or suggest a good reputable maternity centre here in JB. I know KPJ Hospital like Puteri Specialist and Johor Specialist are good but their medical fee for vaginal/LCCS are so much expensive than a stand alone maternity centre. For instance, Century Specialist fee for vaginal-rm1300, LCCS-rm4000 while the KPJ’s hospital charge vaginal-rm2500+, LCCS-rm5-6k++. I am hoping to give birth naturally(vaginal) but we are also have to expect the worse- LCCS might happen too.FYI, i gave birth with my first baby naturally(vaginal) without epidural.
I need some advice on above matter. Your kind help is much appreciated.
Thank you,

Dear Puan Norlela,
Thank you for your interest in BaiBoo. First of all we would like to congratulate you with your pregnancy.
All doctors in Malaysia have sufficient qualifications to practice. We feel that it is most important that you feel comfortable with your doctor. You should feel comfortable enough to discuss anything that may matter to you.
Bear in mind that the doctor is there to help you, to be of service to you. In a way, you are a customer. We suggest that you ask around amongst friends, family and colleagues. Secondly, you may want to choose a doctor, whose practice is close to where you live.
Even though we, at BaiBoo, have no direct contacts at or experience with clinics in JB, we suggest that you approach the experts of our ‘Asian Parenting Today’-blog. You can simply email this and other questions to parenting@baiboo.com.my . Both Jennifer Hor and Ho Ai Ling have over 30 years of experience as midwives and nurses and may be able to help you out.
Should you have any other questions, please let us know.
Warm regards,
The BaiBoo Team
