Hi Baiboo
And further more, can baiboo suggest me any nappy cream that can help to
reduce my son’s redness at his nappy area…his 8 months now….
as i had tried many creams since last 3-4 months and the red spot is still
there….i had tried sebamed, drapolene, pureen, agnesia talcum and of
course doctors’ cream.. still no luck…..
i went to guardian bukit tinggi.. and the staff there recommended the
products that i’d tried….and no doubt that i ask my maid to change his
diapers frequently and wipe the area dry before put a thin layer of the
cream…and still red….. i pity him as he hardly slept thru the
day/night…. is there any other way that i can do….
your help is really appreciated …
thank and happy new year….

Dear Furi,
Thanks for the question. It sound as if you have tried everything. Even before you apply any cream, let me remind you of some simple steps that you can follow to a clean and rash free bottom.
- always use cotton wool and water when cleaning baby’s bottom.
- To wipe bottom with cotton wool and water even if its only a wet (wee) nappy.
- If you are using muslim (cloth) nappy, make sure that its washed and rinse well.
- Do try out different brands of disposable nappy as your baby may be allergic to certain brand.
Now, to the nappy cream. The brands that I find to be effective for persistent rashes like your baby are:
- Lucas pawpaw ointment – This can be found in most baby shops and pharmacies (not Guardian)
- Bepanthene – found in all pharmacies
Hope that you find these tips helpful
