the poliklinik government nurse wants to monitor his weight. coz according the body weight chart ..his weight is above the yellow zone (lack of nutrition)

Dear Feei, your son may weigh lighter than normal but this is only so because he is not taking much fat nor protein. Formula milk is mainly fat & high salt, which tends to make babies fatter and heavier because of water retention. If you can feel your son’s muscles in his calves, arms & buttocks, he’s doing fine. He seems to have sufficient carbohydrates from the oats, biscuits and porridge. His source of protein is mainly tofu and fried egg. As for alternative protein source, you may have to hunt for fish, chicken or meat which are properly prepared and have not been soaked in formalin (which gives the ammoia off-smell which cause children to refuse such food). Look around for fresh fish buys. Go down to the seaside when you can to get fresh buys. Don’t buy them from supermarkets or wet markets. You can also buy them from fish rearing ponds. As for meat & poultry, you will need to buy them from Muslim stores because they will know how to drain off all blood from slaughtered animals – this leaves minimal blood residue in the blood vessels and thus in the tissues, and meat is more pleasant to eat. If your child still refuses meat, try frying it lightly Japanese style – teriyaki, It’s delicious even for babies. As for chicken, prepare it by covering the chicken pieces in crushed garlic and apply freshly pounded tumeric plus a little salt, then fry until the skin is crispy and flesh properly cooked and soft. You can tease the chicken flesh for him to pick up and bite. Your son’s wake-up & sleep times are normal.
