Viability is the term for the age at which the baby has a good chance of surviving outside of the uterus. The norm for viability of the baby is 24 months into the pregnancy. A baby that is born at this point is still considered to be severely premature.
This is the term for a cervix that has been damaged or is weak. It results in the cervix opening prematurely.
