My baby has a diaper rash. What shall I do?

First, don’t use baby wipes at this moment, since they can irritate your baby’s affected skin. Instead it is better to use a soft cotton clean washcloth, soaked in warm water. Then, if possible, keep your baby’s bottom exposed for a few minutes so it can air-dry. If you’re in a hurry you can also use a hair dryer, set on cool. If possible, let your baby’s bottom exposed for a longer time. Otherwise, you can use a diaper cream. Using ‘breathable’ diapers can help also. Bear in mind that moist and closed environments stimulate the growth of yeast and fungi. Should the diaper rash persist, call your doctor.
